How to Install a Stainless Steel Patio Heater
Stainless steel patio heaters are one of the best ways to warm up your deck or garden. They are stylish, convenient and very durable.
A metal patio heater can cost as much as $200, but with many designs, materials and functions you can find some for less than half that amount. If you look hard enough, there are many discount patio heaters out there.
Stainless steel is popular because it is durable and easy to maintain. Most of the material used to make a stainless steel patio heater is recycled steel, which is highly recyclable. Not only that, but recycled steel is available in a wide range of colors, so you can get exactly what you want for your patio heater.
A good idea is to buy a cheap, used, or refurbished stainless steel patio heater. You’ll want to check the instruction manual before you start heating your patio. Usually, you won’t need any professional installation, but you will probably need some electrical experience. Check to see if the heater comes with a plug or is sold without one.
When you are ready to install your patio heater, remember to read the manual carefully. It may seem like there are dozens of different ways to connect the wires to the light, but in fact the simplest way will work best. The easiest way is to use a multi-strand outlet cord with standard size wires and to run the positive terminal from each light to the positive terminal on your home’s main electrical outlet.
Then, you can start by removing the ceiling, which will remove the insulation. Place your installation bracket over the top of the light and place the light into the bracket. Next, place the light on the bracket and secure it with the screws provided, making sure to screw all the way into the bracket. You will then need to install a wall plate in order to support the stainless steel patio heater. To do this, use the screws provided and position the light onto the bracket. Fasten the plate securely to the bracket and then place the bracket over the top of the light.
Finally, secure the wires to the light by running them through a standard outlet. Be sure to power up the light and test it out before it’s actually installed in your house. If you follow these tips, you will be able to get a very efficient, and beautiful stainless steel patio heater that will last for years.
